How can I join your tournaments?

To join our tournaments, simply register on our website to stay updated on upcoming events and show up on Wednesday nights our doors open at 630pm registration starts at 645pm - 7pm on regular tournament nights rounds start at 7pm 

What is the rating system for your games?

Our games are rated using the USCF rating system, allowing players to track their progress and compete at their skill level.Members can look up there offical rating and status on the USCF website . As an affilate for the USCF the SPCC can create new memberships & provide renewals for out-dated memberships .Must be an offical member to play rated games . 

Do you offer coaching for beginners?

Yes, we offer coaching services for beginners looking to learn the basics or enhance their skills.With enough interest The SPCC will hold regular chess school sessions .

Schedule: Registration at 915am - 10am - Official USCF Rated chess games
Round 1 - 10 am - 1145am Round 2 - 12pm-145pm *break in schedule *
Round 3 - 245pm-430pm final ceremony @ 445pm
Format: 3 round Sectional (Quad) 
Sections: 3 sections Open, Under 1800 and Under 1500.

Time control G45 /d5 

$20 entry fee.  120$ minimum prize fund based on the number of entries; Prizes awarded to each
section winner.

Players must have an active US Chess membership. Players can also sign up or renew their US
Chess membership onsite.

Players must know how to use the clock and record the moves with chess notation.
The club has roughly 12 tournament boards and 12 Clocks.  We may need players to bring Boards
& Clocks to support more than 24 players .

from Rabalais Cafe. There is a lot of Free parking behind the Oddfellows building, as well as a lot parking
across the street behind The Bank of Sierra which is free parking and parking along Main St. is also free
